Anniversary Trip Planned!!

For anniversary #3, Justin and I are returning to the scene of the crime and staying for two wonderful nights at the Nantahala Village. We're opting for a little more privacy this time and booked a Historic Cabin further away from the lodgehouse with a stunning view and a hot tub on the deck to enjoy that view from. :-)

For those who made it to the wedding, much has changed at the Village. They are now owned by a large corporation but seem to have maintained that charm and relaxed comfort that we enjoyed so much in 2007!

I'm already loving the reservation agent. When I mentioned it our was our anniversary AND that we got married there, he asked if it would be okay if they included a complimentary bottle of champagne for us to enjoy. Umm...yes....yes, it would be just fine.

Just a hint - always mention if you're traveling on your birthday or anniversary. Last anniversary, mentioning this got us a free upgrade at the wonderful and very fancy Grove Park Inn.

The two-night stay will actually be the tail-end of the anniversary trip. Justin and I will spend 3 days on the trail prior to our little splurge (did I mention that they have a revamped spa with a fabulous menu??). I think we'll be hiking around Joyce Kilmer forest unless Justin is bored with that area. I'll let him map it out.

And yes, there will be rafting!

For two slightly tired, kind of stressed-out people, this is definitely something to look forward to!
